Ellie's animation has taken a turn for the better with the advent of an app called Animate It!, which allows users to create animation with an easy to use photo function. Ellie has been prolific since we bought it for her.
All of the clay figures in her videos are of her own making. All of the ideas are from her head, and she chosses the titles. With some of the short ones I added a little music, but now Ellie chooses the music to accompany the films. All I do is publish them to YouTube.
Please like them (if you do indeed like them) on YouTube and/or leave comments to support Ellie!
Thanks, and enjoy!
This is the Way I Love (2013) I don't know why it's called "This is the Way I Love". That's what Ellie named it, and so that's its name.
This one's got everything! Singing, dancing, costume changes, a top hat and cane dance number, special effects, and a spying owl with a magnifying glass. What more could you want?
I know the end is a little messy in terms of the music cutting off. I vow to get better at video editing.
Never Gonna Give You Up (2013) The first fifteen seconds of this video are pretty rough because of lighting problems, but I include it because there's some very sweet material after it. Ellie loves this Rick Astley song and specifically asked me to attach it to this very video. There's toe tapping, tail wagging, slow motion spinning--it's all there. Enjoy.
Oswald's Bad Dream (2013) This doesn't look like a bad dream to me, but Ellie is the one who named it, so bad dream it is!
My favorite part is when we go into the duck's bill and go through a tunnel to find a cat. Did the duck eat the cat?
Second favorite part are the instrument players.
A Flower in her Hair (2013)
I know I say this every time, but I think this one is my all-time Ellie favorite.
They say that autistic people have trouble feeling and identifying emotions. Watch this sweet little film and tell me there's no emotion inside my daughter. I challenge you!
Also, can we discuss for a moment the film-making here? We start off focused on the bee who has, we can imagine, come from polinizing a nearby flower, then we pan slowly down to an overhead shot of Eve, who finds a flower, clearly is moved by it, and puts it in her hair.
A Knight in Shining Armor (2013) This was Ellie's first attempt with Animate It!. It's done in a flash, but there's still a lot going on here. You need to watch it a few times to fully appreciate the knight in all his glory. Look at the detail of his armor, and please notice the sceptor he's holding in his hand--it's precious.
Pink Panther in the Dryer (2013) This is quick and will charm your pants off. Ellie loves dryers, and she loves Pink Panther. What happens when they get together?
